SEO help wanted for small web company

I am looking for someone to do SEO for Nabble. Our needs are different from most web sites because we have a very large amount of user generated content that we don't control and because we naturally get a fair number of links to our site from our users. So our SEO challenge isn't so much tuning content for targeted keywords or getting links as it is optimizing our site to make the best possible use of the links and the content that we do have.

SEO is very much core to our business. Our business is hosted forums. I would like to identify promising forums on our web site and target these for SEO. Once a particular forum becomes successful, then it no longer needs as much SEO and should in fact become a natural link magnet. So my hope is that by somehow linking from successful forums to new forums, we can make new forums successful and thereby build up a large number successful, high page-ranked forums.

Since SEO is so important to us, we would like to offer a significant equity stake to someone who can really deliver SEO results for us. We do not want to pay a fixed salary or hourly rate because we do not want to take the risk of paying and not getting results. But we can pay you some part of our ad revenue (in addition to equity).

Obviously this position depends on you believing in our business. If you are interested in learning more, please contact me directly and I will send you a detailed description of our business.

I can tell you now you won't get a competent SEO for a equity stake...the variables are just too numerous.

Look around for someone to help you out. Sounds like you have some good goals. I would agree, if you have tons of content then optimize around that.

This looks like a property that could easily be kicked up several notches.

Not a bad business idea but if you're not willing to take risks why should someone take a risk on you?

I am taking a lot of risks. I invested the time to write most of the software. And I am financing this with my own money. What I am asking is for someone to share the risk. I wouldn't ask this of a programmer because a programmer isn't equiped to evaluate this business. So for a programmer, I offer $4000/month plus a low equity stake. But an SEO person should be able evaluate the business, and so should be willing to share more of the risk, and more of the reward.

Who should I look for, and where?

I realize that SEO professionals are well paid. But your pay still depends on putting in the time to do work. On the other hand, owning stock in a successful business will generate income without work. What I am asking for is an investment in time. And like any investment, I would expect you to research the investment before making a commitment. I certainly don't expect anyone to agree to work for Nabble just based on what is in this thread, but I was at least hoping that some people would inquire further.
