Outsourcing advice needed please!

Hello all,

I've been reading for quite some time and I think this is the place for this question. Thanks in advance for your help and replies!

I know very little about web design, code, SEO, ect.

That being said I'm not a total dummy in those departments.

But I've come to realize my time is better spent elsewhere, not spending years learning how to code and SEO like a pro.

I've outsourced two website development projects and am thinking I need to outsource the SEO too.

So my question would be(and I know it may be difficult to answer so I will be detailed):

If I plan on doing the SEO and promoting that doesn't involve messing with code and the inner workings of a website, etc. I.E. I would do link building, press releases, offline stuff, etc.

And I'm pretty sure my site's topic isn't insanely competetive. Could I reasonably outsource something like this for $300-600 per month?

Oh yeah, the site is Joomla platform. Thanks!!

That amount of money can get you quite a bit with the right out sourcer.

On thing I recomend is to get a proper specification drawn up and some template instructions.

I use an SEO Company (and I am happy to give you their details as long as they know I gave them to you) in India who I am very happy with.

I have tried several and had contact from many more. I had never been impressed until I found this particular company.

I give them very specific instructions and set them up with an email address on each domain.

Thanks for the reply!!

I would love the name of the company. I've used a few companies abroad, and finding a good one is a big deal.

Not sure how green of a question this is...but what kind of specifications and templates are you referring to, when you say 'draw up'?

Are you talking duties, tasks, goals, etc? Thanks again!!

You can get it from me via PM when you have 10+ posts or you can email me at my user name plus add the googlemail.com bit on the end.

I just give themn a very specific set of instructions, which they follow to the letter.
I would be dubious about just saying "optimise for this term" as that probably wont get you value.

If you get a really good SEO spec and some specific link building instructions that would be a good start to work with these guys.

Great, I'll hang around here till I get 10+ post's. No doubt it would and will be good for me.

I appreciate the help. I'll need to do some serious research in order to give a company some good instructions.

Could you give a company several top 10 lists as a starter and say do this? That might sound absurd, but like I said I am a little green, but willing to learn

Thanks again!

Also, I'll take any other outsourcing advice people would like to give me. I'm all ears.

And if this has been covered before and I'm the annoying guy asking questions that have already been covered then throw me some links and I'll read up .

Thanks!!

Just giving a list doesn't really cut it because you don't know what you will end up with.

I write very specific link building specs.

I have a system where I collate all information in a spread sheet and have several different link blocks and textual elements that I use for linking so it appears natural.
I tell them to spend 1 hour on one block, then one on the next and go through it in that sequence.

That way you don't get loads of links all with the same anchor text. That appears more natural and thats what the search engines want.

Thanks again for the response. What if I don't want help with link building?

I'm planning on doing much of that myself via article submission, press releases, personal contact with other webmasters, etc.

I would really like someone who can do the whole behind the scenes thing like title tags, site optimization, making sure ads are placed properly, make sure the site uploads well, some keyword research and implementation, meta tags, getting uploaded images to rank, cacheing the pages of the site, making sure spiders can index all of it, etc.

Let me know if I'm way off in what I'm looking for here.

Also what is the whole not wanting the same 'anchor text' in links about? If a hundred people linked to an article on my site would this be a problem?

Thanks again!!

I answered my own question about the 'anchor text' ...the rest of I'd still love to hear some thoughts on.

Thanks!!
