Need SEO on a very small budget

hey guys,

I've spent ages building a website and want to start promoting it, the only thing is I have virtually no time for SEO and a very small budget. Also i wouldn't really know where to start.

My site provides web hosting services, I understand web hosting is very broad and there are many companies doing it. I don't expect to be the top of search engines I just need some exposure, link building etc.

Anyone got any advice for me or interest in doing the job?

PM me please.

Hire a sophomore with cs major and marketing minor or vice versa. OR
A High school/college kid interested in this kind of work. They will work for you for less then minimum wage and they can claim work for future references in landing a job.

There are a lot of professionals here. But there are also a lot of non-professionals as well who love nothing more than to take your money and do nothing to help you. All we're saying is try and thin out the herd so you're only dealing with a better stock of experts.

Pay peantus you get monkeys. hire a kid to do what you want, but guess what, spend a week online and read SEO chat and you'll learn enough to do what your goals are. If more, than just browse some top posters and ask them what they can deliver. Simple

If your budget is limited how about your time? There is a lot you can learn here that you can apply to your site FREE. But you have to have the time to learn and implement these things. Otherwise I agree with the above.

IMO, anyone... I do mean anyone, operating on a tight budget that doesn't do at least a little due dliegence is asking to be taking advantage of. Do a little reading and figure out what you can do for yourself then spend that limited budget on the things you can't do as efficiently or are beyond your abilities. At least you'll be able to ask better questions when deciding if/when to work with someone and you're not going to get to the top for any reasonbly competitive term on a limited budget unless you're willing to do some of the work yourself.

SEO is not rocket science, the longer I do it the more I think of the book awhile back... All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarden.

A little reading goes a long way, or at least you won't be starting back at square one with no budget.

When I had limited budget I bought ebooks on SEO by some of the top names. You can still get them and many websites have big SEO tutorials that you can read for free - including SEOchat which has some newbie guides as well.

After that, spend time in study and experiment. This is never a waste because when you do have a big budget for SEO it will keep you from being ripped off and enable you to hire wisely. Plus reading and posting here will enable you to see wise comments from several really good SEOs who offer their services for hire.

Who knows, maybe you will enjoy doing it so much that you will not hire anyone - but do it yourself. I do most of my own SEO but hire consulting now and then from people who I know are topGun because of reading their posts here and on other forums.

EGOL - if some business person finds this site (via WOM or SE), they post and expect responses. I have clients who always ask me how do I improve rankings (and I tell them, you have to pay to know)

But sometimes they don't care, they just want results. As in any other marketing statement - "we will do your dirty work so you can focus on what you do best"

And with that mindset you will find many posts here - do this for me because I don't have time to do the dirty work.

I have read some your posts in the past but this particular post of yours sounds very much in-the-box thinking - quite contradictory to your marvellous posts in the past

And, above is just my $0.02

EGOL agrees: lol... that is how I did it... learn first from study then when you know enough you can pay someone
to kick it up a notch. This guy has limited budget but didn't say that time was limited too.

I agree for a limited budget you could probably do just as good a job yourself by reading ebooks and SEO articles etc.

A good place to start would be:
