Looking for an SEO consultant
Can anyone help me out? My company is looking for someone who is extremely tech savvy (who can implement the recommendations they provide), can deal with redirects/canonicalization issues, H1/H2 content, internal links, backlinks, and help us tackle new business opportunities. Any suggestions on where to look to find a consultant?
Thanks,
Heidi

Check the members list here
sort them by reputation, there you'll find many smart minds to chose from.

You're in the right place! The chap just above me in this thread is certainly qualified. Whoever you hire, ask:
What they are going to do?
What metrics will they use to report on campaign success?
For a list of current awesome ranks
For references, and check them.
Ask if the firm has dedicated SEO staff, ask to speak to the person who is managing the SEO department and speak personally with him/her about what they are going to do.
Ask questions, and if the answers sound fishy, they probably are.

And this is a remote position? Do you mind sharing your niche? That might help filter out qualified people vs. non.

Josh is right..it's so much easier working on an industry one has experience in than not. That way you get the qualified pro rather than just a pro. Not that a pro couldn't do it, but ya cut through a lot of unnecessary BS if ya both know what your talking about.

I don't compete with the members here. If someone reaches out to me I will discuss how I can help them but more often than not I recommend one of the others.
