Looking for a SEO/SEM freelancer

I have an e-commerce client that is interested in SEM/SEO and she is demanding to see results within a month. This might be unreasonable, I'm not the expert you are, so any feedback would be helpful. She sells high-end baby furniture and supplies, i.e. cribs, bedding, etc. We are looking to develop a long term relationship with a freelancer. We are asked to provide SEM/SEO services to many of our client; however as I said before we are not experts and would rather not say we provide this service and end up screwing ourselves in the end.

She is really looking at google as her main inflow of traffic. Currently, in the past 3 months she has received over 40,000 hits, yet she has only converted 4 into actual sales. So, this is a problem obviously. This is a rush job and we are looking to develop a long term relationship with a freelancer.

Please provide a list of references as well as their contact information.

Also, please explain what your services entails. I.E. monthly reports, etc. Can you provide me with a snapshot of the types of reports your provide to your clients?

Moreover, demonstrate your knowledge of SEO/SEM by explaining how you proceed with projects and what types of avenues/strategies you use. As I mentioned we are focusing on Google, however please advise if this is the correct approach.

We have paid for Yahoo! already.

I need 100% quality traffic to be driven to the site as well as the conversion of the traffic to customers. Of course the conversion is most important!!

Yes this is not realy achieveable in the time scale, how ever there are many things that can be done.
I would have to have more info - ie have a good look at the site and get an idea of budget before I said exactly how I would proceed. However this sounds more like either poor targetting or poor site usability.

I can give you some refferences, I have recently competed with reasonable success in an SEO competition in Google.com.
If you could give me the URL I would be much better versed in advising you. Also I would say it is a bit foolish focusinf efforts soley on Google. This has shown recently that it can be very bad. Many online businesses went bust during the recent Google dance by relying soley on Google.

Also this sounds to me like an insutry where PPC might do well and this would achieve the required results int eh time scale - which is after all the most important thing!

Conversion rate completely depends on the write up and display on your site. I have client whose visits are low but customer rate as compared to visits are 35%. Yours is 0.0004% How do you achieve the increase of conversion rate? That is what you need to think. Any SEO/SEM expert can make your site expose to millions in about 4-6 months time (realistic), but you need to have business that caters people's needs and if it does, your site layout is what you need to think of.
