Is this to good to be true...

I got a money back guarantee from an SEO saying top 10 on google in 6 months or less, at $1500 a month, I'm really close to sealing the deal. What should I be aware of?

Well... Do you have to pay them the $1500 up front? What kind of recourse do you have if they just decide "not" to give you your money back? Are they based overseas? If so it would be even more difficult to get your money back as they may not be subject to your local law. If you want PM me their website link and I'll check them out.

Any SEO company who GUARANTEES placement is DESPERATE for money. You will have zero recourse of the net to get someone unless they resie in your jurisdiction. You should pay for expertise, not guarantees. 1500 a month for 6 = 9000? Thats big money, I'm assuming u have a big site, you're getting full serivce, everything from top to bottom. They will deliver, but there are so many factors online and in SEO that guarantees is impossible. I always think SCAM right off the bat with SEO and guarantees.

Just my thoughts.

A few things come to mind. A gimick that used to be used (and probably still is) is where companies claim top top placement but not necesarily in Google. For example "SEO Services. Are you trying to get top 10 listings in Google? We can help with guaranteed top placements!" It implies Google but could be some no-name SE. Another thing to watch out for is which keywords are they guaranteeing? I can guarantee top 10 placement for just about any 8-word string. Or maybe the KWs sound competitive but they aren't. Look into it. Also is the money-back the full amount or a cut based on expenses paid, fees, etc.? Finally ask them what sites they've optimized for and for what keywords. See if they can proove it!

I will guarantee top 10 placement in all search engines within 5 months for only $1,000.

I will place up to 10 keywords into the top 10. You decide what must be done... I will decide upon and select the keywords. Please forward me $3,000 for the first 3 months. If I am not totally satisfied with my effort, I will forgive and not cash the final check for $2,000 within 90 days of having received your payment of the final $2,000. Please forward two checks: $3,000 dated today and the final payment of $2,000 without a date written on the check. I will enter that date when I am satisfied that I deserve the final payment.

I sure hope all of you will HIRE ME.

Accept it. Make the SEO sign an agreement(don't you sign his) stating that once the project is completed it must be confirmed by atleast 3 professionals on SeoChat.

Don't accept it, you have little recourse when you pump money into SEO frauds.

How about making a contract on a leagal document and then in case they fail, claim for money back?? Even if it sounds like scam.. you would be on a safer side though..?

anything wrong with that? just my opinion

With these kind of offers you lose your position when you stop paying the monthly fee.

This takes a huge percentage out of the long term ROI of proper natural SEO.

If your budget can stand that and you still wish to go ahead then fine, but my advise would be to steer clear.

They also have a Page Rank of 0 and about 20 indexed links in google and have had the website for about two years with nothing to show for it. If that's their flagship website it's scary stuff.

Exclamation yes dear, to good to be true

first of all i dont think any professioanl seo would guarantee you the exact position. if they would,--> seek legal contract, dont pay until you see the result.

mostly seo can be successfully executed in 2-3 months, if someone gives you a fixed target with their price per month, BELIEVE ME, THEY WILL DO THE SEO SLOWLY, OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME SAYING THAT ITS JUST THE CRAWLERS....that take so much time, whereas they are busy filling their pockets with green. also a money back guarantee? tell me, what guarantee do you have TO JUSTIFY THIS GUARANTEE,

always do your homework before accepting offers blindly.

----
agree with me? let me know
