I think i would like a full time position as an seo
I am just thinking.
Sure working for myself is good and all that. I do get to work in my underwear and make a lot of money but i am thinking i may like a job. Is anyone out there looking for employees? I am willing and more than happy to relocate. My skills are. I know how to do meta tags. I also know how to do html. Thankyou in anticipation.

djstreet,
You just touched on something that is very interesting - increasing your personal network as a way to find more clients. I think that most SEO companies invest a disproportionate amount in SEOing their websites, and too little in networking with local businessmen. My advice: don't take a single strategy, diversify! ...But the good SEOs already knew that |

really depends on your venture i suppose. SEO wise, more people are going to trust me and what I do, invest their dollars, if they come from a friend/good source. I need to go to more SEO MIXERS!

I too am looking for a full time job because I am getting tired of retirement. I can SEO and I sometimes knit. All I want is a continuous supply of premium beer, chips, a soft couch and access to a large screen tv with a DVD player (surround sound would be nice). If interested... call me.

Its ok working for myself and i do have way much more money than i could ever spend but my options now are.
1, set up a big company 2, stay seoing in my underwear 3, get an seo job i have seen seo jobs paying yearly what i can pull in a week arbing but i just feel i am missing something not having a job. If only i could get a job that paid $35`000 a month and also gave me the perks of being able to only work a few hours a day and spend the rest reading digg, threadwatch and syndk8. |

Ya in run down time myself... I've added more posts here in the latter 3 months than I did in the first 3 years! I still don't get much too much to do! |

I retired from holding CEO/executive positions in the high tech and telecommunications industries. Will still dabble here online with my own site(s). Might even do some minor high level short-term consulting on SEO/SEM. Leaving California shortly. We are building a home in Las Cruces, NM right on a golf course. Retiring in the desert with my laptop, wife, and dog. (Oops! Maybe I better put my wife and dog first.

heehee... I'm planning to head first to Florida to stop in and see Jon and kick him for unbanning me... then Barbados, Tortola BVI, and Curacao do some diving to find a good location for my submarine tours.
Prefer Barbados over the other two since most of the large British companies working in Africa have corporate condos there for staff vacations and easy pickings - but unsure if there is anything useful to dive on. Course pussers rum is made on Tortola BVI, and the topless beaches of Curacao are hard to pass up... but I wouldn't be doing much diving then - more like fish flopping and mountain climbing on the latters! |

Your plan sounds fabulous. I have traveled extensively on an international basis throughout my career. We have never seen North America from a tourist perspective. I even bought a SUV so that the three of us can take road trips everywhere. No real destination schedules... just go until we feel like going home. Have done a couple... great fun. |

Sorry to hijack the thread [but this is good] 20 years in submarines, eastern seaboard, down to the equator, up to Greenland, western seaboard of Europe; top of Norway, throughout to Med, and Africa, and staying in some awesome hotel [for free], [[can't forget -- got to see lots of jail cells as well] and the only places that I would call home for the latter part of my life are all in the Carribean. |
