I'm looking to gather some real numbers here, not suggestions. I want to analyze the pricing distribution for the SEO community and see what it looks like. Cheap? Expensive? Bell Curve? I'll make it all public and repost once I gather the stats and draft a few graphs. Any help is appreciated.

I seriously charge 19,- but I'm sure the resident pros can come up with their (more respactable) figures for SEO pricing /hour, /job or /year...
That is if they're willing to share

Thanks....to SanDiegoSEO. I'm going to make sure that Wit's 19 is considered an outlier.

I like to charge $50,000 per minute, but I never get that, so I would charge about $50/hour (okay, I'm cheap, but affordable).

$500 for the three first hours then $120 for each additional hour.
E.g. if a project has 20 active hours I will bill $2540. There are always a certain number of non-billable hours to every project that's why I now have a minimum charge. To make up for this I was thinking about charging some thing in the $260-300 range for the first hour, but I threw away that idea - one hour consulting is almost nothing, three hours are more than three times as much.

Yay. I'm actually getting responses! Anybody else feel free to jump on the bandwagon. The appropriate number of stats for a truly meaningful analysis is in the thousands...I'm not sure how many different numbers I'm exactly looking to get, but keep it coming! And thanks to everyone who's willing to post an hourly fee.

Pricing...
Depends - a lot of things in the SEO industry are not per-hour.
For example, reciprocal link campaigns should be paid for by the link by PR by unique domain, etc. SEO consulting should be by the hour, but you should be ready to ask specific questions in advance - dont want to waste time going over the basics you already know (or should know after 30 minutes in this forum). Web design and development can be per-hour, but you need a good time estimate before it gets going or they can bs you out of a ton of cash. |
