Finding an SEO Professional

Is there any way to get a list of highly recommended and legit SEO professionals? I have have my web site for a few months and am really trying to get it out there but I am lacking two things....time and the know how. I figure paying someone who knows what they are doing will make me more money in the long run.

So does anyone know of such a list??

The good thing about forums is you can go back in time and view what the person has been posting to get an idea of their competence. Any other posters who claim to be a pro will have to provide extra referral information.

The biggest problem with lists of good seo is if they are really good seo they tend to book up very fast. It doesn't take much to get a stack of clients if you are really good at what you do.

And to add a note from my copy writing circles, it doesn't take long before the good ones stop working for other people.

I would stick with this forum (unless you're a huge client) for the reason I mentioned above -- you can track the comments of prospective consultants right here right now.

Yeah...SEOmoz list.....great group but most of the people on their list are nationally known, some are high $$ and in high demand.

It is listed on basis of reputation points. Rep levels also include years of membership (i think).

I have been burned by a half dozen seo companies but still believe there is hope. My industry doesn't have heavy competition and the top ranked site for my main keywords have PR of 2 and 3.

I am currently talking to Brian Ortiz of SEOMatrix. Everything i find about them is ethical this and ethical that. Does anyone have information about their service. I found a few Better business boo-boos but you never know with this industry.

I read an article from Brian of SEOMAtrix and he say to look to see if the complaints are resolved.

If any one can provide more info on them i would really appreciate it.

Their blatant rip off of Enquiro's "eye tools" mapping chart on their home page appears to be really "ethical" to me too.

Sure you don't work for them? Your post seems very suspicious being it is your first post and you have no URL in your profile?

I wish i worked for them...Then i wouldnt have to make this decision. And there is no url in my profile because i have already gotten about 10 SEO calls this week.
The one from SEOMatrix was the only one that sounded somewhat legit.

I get 2-4 a week from a phone company offering me SEO for $49 a month too.

Why would i post the entire url? I dont want this to get crawled or get spam and companies contacting me.

Is it that big of a deal to ask an anonymous questions?

Like i said i have been burned by several Seos and have been in talks with them for several months.

Either way i have chosen to go in another direction.
