What we need done:
Need an SEO back linking campaign run for a long list of keywords and phrases (100). We require an ongoing list of backlinks for the duration of the contract and until goals are reached. I expect first page in Google, Yahoo, MSN, & Ask. Require keyword research based on a list of criteria that we will provide. Require competition analysis and a project plan on how to out rank competition and hold those ranks. Will require an NDA, contract & SOW before work is started. What I already have versus what the provider will build: We are a leader in the online magic retail industry since 2001. Our domain is 8 years old, so that should help. (I will disclose full domain and URL information upon choosing your bid however, my username will give you an idea.). Our site is well established and we would need recommendations only of on site SEO, however we need an outside exper to handle the offsite campaign. The main focus will be the off-site SEO campaign. Other context/requirements that providers will need to know regarding back links: 1. Links will be from closely related or complementary websites to magic 2. More than one link to the site from any single website will not be counted. 3. No more than 50 links on each web page (where link is placed) 4. Links will contain the target keyword/keyphrase as a text hyperlink 5. Links will contain the target keyword/keyphrase as a title tag on the text hyperlink 6. Links will be followed by a short description of the target website also containing related keywords. 7. Must be able to alternate multiple descriptions and link title submissions. 9. Staggered deployment of the links to avoid any penalties 10. One way links although 3 way exchanges are acceptable. 11. Links will not be from framed pages 12. Links not be through a javascript 13. Links not be through a redirect script 14. Links should not be from bad neighborhoods - adult content, gambling, pharmacy, indecent, or questionable websites. 15. Links will not be on Flash sites or pages 16. Links will not include a nofollow tag or any other robot tags 17. Links will not be on a links page excluded by a robots tag 18. All links need to be permanent 19. All links will be free and not paid 20. All Links should not be on a site penalized or banned by Google 21. Links not from link farms or link exchange sites, linking clubs 22. Links will not be from directories - except DMOZ, or Jayde 23. Links will not be from same IP - from sites with unique c-class IP addresses only 24. All linking efforts should be White Hat methods. 25. No spamming for link exchange. 26. Linking sites have to be spider friendly. 27. Upon completion, a full list of links must be submitted for approval. 28. The Home page on which the place the link is placed should be at least PR 3 with at least a PR1 of the link resident page, PAYMENT : To pay only monthly basis based on performance. We reserve the right to cancel contract due to poor service. REFERECES: We would require a minimum of five (5) SEO/SEM projects you have done in USA together with Web Address and Keywords you have to optimize. Interested parties may PM me anytime. I will send my email address to speed connectivity upon interest. Specific qualities that I am seeking: Generate quality, long lasting links that will drive us to the first page spots on Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Ask for our targeted keywords and phrases. Open to any suggestions you can provide regarding website keyword optimization. We also require quick communication (within 12 hours) and a solid understanding (written and oral) of English. Longterm, if you are effective on this project, we will continue to use your link building and SEO services at a flat monthly rate to ensure rank positioning. Time frame for delivery: Ongoing for 3-6 months. Longer based on performance. Ah, thank you for that info. What would be the preferred method of contact that you would suggest?
Also, if anyone is willing to invest the time, could I get objective feedback on the job? Are the requirements acceptable in the SEO industry? Thank you in advance. |

Well thought out... it's good to see a potential customer taking an interest in what they really wish to achieve... most don't care enough about details, goals, or objectives.
That said: some things to consider. You really need to determine what you need more "a SEO" or "a link developer"... or both? Your post suggests link developers but your performance clauses are rank-driven and that means SEO. In the great scheme of thing you don't likely need a SEO - but in saying that if you hire people to build links you can't ask them to be tied to ranks as a contractual obligation... that isn't their job - their job is merely to find the best links and that helps you achieve your own objectives. If I were you - I would hire 1. a SEO consultant [1] for advice only that should run about $1-5K flat rate, 2. a link developer [1] for free one-way links (your going rate noted previously) 3. a domain developer [1] basically seeks complementing fairly well established expired domains for you content writers 4. content writers [2] [...or more] to add interest topics which complement you current domain [on the domains acquired for you] #3 & #4 develop your primary links... you control everything about these domains and you get your free text links plus have vasdt amounts of ad space to make supplemental revenue to pay for the contination of other domains. ......................................... While your general strategy is well thought out it isn't without problems that you nor the link devlopers have any control over. Some facts: You can't tell who will be penalized or banned in the future... and it's also next to impossible to determine what pages are in supplemental results (meaning any link from these pages don't count). Noting PageRank as a quality control measure [e.g. at least PR3] what will they be next update? PR5 can become PR0 and PR0 can become PR5 and you kept the PR0's and ignored PR5's in this case -- surely that wasn't your plan but that is what you asked for. What's a "permanent link?" - how can a link developer control the length of time a "free link" is available? It's also next to impossible to find pages from quality sites that have less than 50 links (or that don't grow to that). |

Fathom,
That is wonderful information. And I see the thought process behind every one of your points and it makes perfect sense. You're right, we primarily need a link developer and organic consultant. I appreciate your time invested here, and I will update the post accordingly. |
