Out of the two, I have had a quote done from E-brandz myself... They are OK...but personally I would recommend taking a deep insight to the recommendations they provide. To me, though not everything was covered, but I guess major things were done nicely.

The best Option is, Compare 4-5 proposals, and Bombard them with questions and Notice:

1. If they become frustrated with your questions - Forget them (Yes many do)

2. If they say, Meta Descriptions will effect your SERPS - Forget them

3. If they say, Meta Keywords are important - Forget them

4. If they focus on such small issues, creating an illusion to u, proving u that these things will do good, - Forget them

5. if they say, its our company secret, not to reveal what to do - Forget them

6. If they say, We cannot guarantee any ranks question them Why cant u? I have many proposals they are providing me with some.. And listen to thier answer.

7. If they say bad words, downgrade another company or their competitor in front of u - forget them

8. Not to forget, read what their clients have to say about them..

In short, Question them Question Them Question Them... till they die Afterll its your money and you shud be very clear where it is going and why it going. Do take step to step updates as well..

Helps?

If you can find someone who will do SEO for £200 and gets £6k a month back in sales...that is £72k a year then let me know ;)

Think of how much it costs to put an ad in the local paper...just for one insertion...then compare it back to your £200...

my best plan of action is to learn as much as i can and implement it myself to the website.

The stuff i actually need to change on the website will be done by the website designers.

Cheers.

Make sure that your website is built in an SEO-friendly way from the start. You can learn it all yourself...I know I did

For someone to do some basic SEO on your site you could pay £1-2k. Link building could be an additional fee on top of this.

I don't do SEO for clients. I am an in-house SEO/PPC/Marketing/Analytics 'bod' with a few projects on the side ;)
