1st-page.com

I'm in the process of evaluating SEO firms and have recently spoken with 1st-page.com. I was impressed by their knowledge and will be asking for references, but wanted to see what if anything the rest of the community knew about them.

Anything positive or negative is welcomed.

I have not heard of them. They seem legit enough. Be wary of any company offering guarantees. I didn't see any of those on the site.
It is good they addressed some of the common misconceptions and what some not-so-reputable companies do.

I have no knowledge of them, but I like their site. They claim to bring 94% of their clients to the first page of SERPs. Impressive! I would sure love to call their references on some challenging keywords.

They also claim that the remaining 6% cannot get to the first page due to prior optimazation problems (absolute b.s. in my opinion)... re-optimize.

I have no knowledge of them but... if something sounds too good to be true... it usually is. Check into them and ask for 5 or so unafilliated references.

They are also part of the better business bureau, so if they ran into any trouble, one would think that it would show up.

4 complaints in the last 3 years seems more than acceptable.

I have never worked with them personally however from what I hear they seem good.

Before I came to SeoChat, probably half a year or more before I contacted them, I wanted to get to the top for a VERY competitive phrase with a new site. The guy talked for a few minutes about it and he wouldn't even give a price. He said to go back work on the site personally and build it up and contact him in a few months. he said at that point he wouldn't be able to do anything for cheap enough to make it worth my while.

At first I didn't think of him very highly, I thought he should have accepted. After learning what I know now(what little that is :lol I know see the wisdom in his thoughts. I now see how foolish ranking for that term was and that his advice on going for long-tail phrases and then coming back and working something out was good.

So based on that I found his advice good. I can't personally recommend his services because I have never used them or had any reliable webmasters say he was good. I would have went back but I started learning seo and didn't need his services any longer.

I would look around for sites he has already done and talk with them and see what he really did for them.

Never heard of them either. By looking at their site, I don't feel very confident. Their site is not built very professionally. A lot of empty promises, not proven results. Before you pay them any money, please make sure to ask about their client sites' rankings. Any reputable SEO firms will be proud to show you their ranking results.

Don't be fooled by any promises or guarantees. Even you have some guarantees written on paper, you won't get your money back if you don't see the result. You can take them to court, but that will cost you more money.
