What is the best traffic estimating tool out there?

What websites would you recommend that most accurately assess the number of visitors a site gets? I used to use (URL address blocked: See forum rules) and (URL address blocked: See forum rules), but I don't really think either is all that great anymore.

    Thanks!

I use Awstats, which is a log file analyser: server log file might be more accurate than Google Analytics.

On WordPress sites, I use the OWA plugin (Open Web Analytics).

    Hi guys,

I am not talking about my own site, I'm talking about competitor's sites.

In my experience Awstats is not as accurate as GA. It has difficulty differentiating between ppl and bots. Plus, its features are extremely basic. GA is very very robust for a free tool. You're throwing away crucial information by not using it.

For a competitor site it's ipmossible. The best you can do is make an estimate through websites like Spyfu or even Adwords.

I think its not possible to check competitor visitors without pasting the visitor tracking code in website.

    • ElectricPrez : What? If you're suggesting that he paste the competitor's tracking code on his own site, that is utterly false.
