for the background. any input would be helpful. i was deciding on a dark or light background
and chose white. helpwould be nice, thanks

Yes, I think the color scheme should be the same throughout MOST sites. Some sites lend themselves to different schemes, but in general, not. I think your colors could be jazzed up some. You might want to try this tool. http://pixy.cz/apps/barvy/index-en.html

Personally, I think photography sites look good with a dark background, like black or dark grey, but that's just me.

Did you do the flash navigation yourself? You might want to make it a bit bigger, it's a bit hard to make out.

That's a great tool. I've just put it in my favourites.

I think that the multiple colors thing has just been given a bad wrap because when someone isn't talented, they tend to do that.

plenty of decent sites have tried to take a risk and have it change, and on some of them they look just fine.

be careful to make it look nice is you do this, but don't be too paranoid of being different

Smile

I agree with disgust, color should be soothing to eyes... but generally people stick to same color layout through the site..

It depends on designer, I have design many sites with different schemes but under a same theme, while a theme with single color layout.... Depends upon the Client requiremnts..

While for a photography site... i believe dark colors will do, but don`t underestmate light colors also.. Just go and experiment with a few.. who knows you can develop a master piece...

Best of Luck
