War with Iraq

So, who's for it and who's against it??

If anyone feels strongly opposed to it please let us know. Normally I'd not discuss these kinds of things, but given that this will affect us all in the long term I though it could eb discussed - in an orderly and mannerly fashion perhaps?

I've added a poll to this post which is valid for 21 days (3 weeks) so get voting. Hopefully this thread can develop along with the latest developments an stay up to date.

Not at all. The only thing we can hope for now is that it's over quickly.

Gringo.

i think it was the lesser of two evils, it was
a) let sadam stay, possibly develop more weapons of mass distruction (we know he had them even though he kept on saying that he didn't) {what has he been launching into kuait?...aahhh}
b) go to war, forcibly remove him, stop the atrosities being inflicted appon the iraqui people by him, and remove a source of munitions from the arsonal of the terrorists.

would you let a child play with a stick of dynamite and matches?

I didn't want to go to war. Now that we're knee deep in it, the only thing we can do now is support the troops over there and hope they get back safe. I'm sickened by all of these anti-war protestors out there. They don't realize how demoralizing it can be to the troops overseas.

Hey you can be against the war, but what's protesting going to do. You're not gonna change anything. Basically you're just bringing attention to yourself. Why not support our troops and lets get this thing over with quick.

Peace.

I agree with you 100% Protesting is for people who are bored and have nothing better to do.

Everyone wanted Saddam out, and the military aspects have been handled with incredible skills.

What bothers me is that they have done this under the premise of the WMD concept, to obscure the obvious real goal of establishing further American interests in the region.

To a point you may be correct, but think of this: America is the only nation in history that is as powerful as we are and uses that power responsibly. We do not colonize nations we defeat. Compare that to the Soviet Union in the 20th century, Great Britain in the 18th-20th centuries, Rome in the 1st-5th centuries, etc.

For those of us that are Christians (particuarly those that embrace the historicist eschatological position) we know that conflict with Muslim nations is inevitable.
