too many ads

Is it just me or has SEOChat gone a little overboard with the advertising. When I first started coming to this site about 6-8 months ago there were no ads. Then a few started showing up...now they are all over the place.

I don't mind a few relevant ads on each page - but this is getting rediculous. The ads on this site are huge and very annoying with their flashy colors. I feel like I'm going to have a seizure!

Cut down a little on the ads or just use simple text ads...they will be more effective for your advertisers and less annoying to your users.

Actually the ads are doing quite well for our advertisers, and its what pays the bills. Thanks for your understanding.

We went through this, I think most the visitors will either ignore them or click on them if they find it useful.

The ads here will not waste people's time.

why? (1) advertisers are going to want to waste money putting irrelevant ads up (2) if your not interested you wont click on them - we are all very tech savvy people here.

I have no problem with showing relevant ads on a page -- after all this site needs to make money. But I think there is a tasteful way of doing it and an obnoxious way of doing it.

Having banners flashing all over the place is obnoxious to me.

A simple text link such as the "Find web hosting now" that you can see underneath the quick reply box is much more appealing and I am more likely to click it.

Imagine if TV advertisers took this approach and had their ads blaring at ten times the volume with flashing colors.

All in all I think this site is an awesome resouce -- just wanted to make sure it didn't become one big banner ad like some sites have as of late.

Ok,

I am sure SEO Chat will not go beyond the level of advertising as the DevShed site or its network.

But banner ads have to be sold to keep this site up. I am just a moderator here.

It is hard to sell advertisers text ads.
