SEO description SEO keywords - does it matter anymore?
i've been keying in all my SEO keywords and descriptions for each product and category, we have over 3000 right now... i haven't even made a dent and i'm starting to get CTS...
is it still important to have all this information put in? i know in my SEO books they say it's important, but then lately i've heard otherwise.
i know it's important to rank, so trying to figure what i need to do without overkill. we lost an hour today because of daylight savings time... could use a break

thank you all again for any input!
Assuming you are talking about Meta Description - I would say 'forget about them'...
They don't help.

I disagree with regards to meta descriptions. This is the copy shown in SERPS and if well-written will help attract attention and clicks. It is not enough to rank well, if no-one clicks through.
Ranking-wise, forget it. It won't do you any good.

So you're saying none of my sites get clicks because they don't have Meta Descriptions? ... that's news to me.
Surely you're not saying that Meta Descriptions are the only way to have well written listings...
If you have poor snippets because of page layout issues like navigation link interference - fixing that is better than hiding it because the Meta Description won't appear for everything... and if you didn't fix you page layout problem - you're likely back to "no one clicking".
[I sure love someone to actually show this phenomena - no one clicks if your listing sucks... I've seen sucky Adword ads that brought lots of clicks in -- maybe its a limit market thing.
