Seems an already lost battle?

Hi,

I hope I haven't gotten you guys irritated yet with all these basic questions, heh, but after 3 days of a crush course, it seems to me that if you are about to create a site wich sells suits and there are already tons of competitions, then you will never win and get to the top or even close?

page rank: well, that's possible you can get better links with good contents, so there, I might win, but they have a good advantage of building more better links faster than me.

website age: I am already lost.

page title and H1 tags: they are doing the same, so I will call it even.

after all this, it's probably a lost battle, so well, I will probably have to go with PPC?

I am not a pesmestic person, but with limited knowledge so far, I would like to have some pointers.

Thanks

Check out Egol's sig... and I'll add, if you think the battle is lost before you start... you're right.

If you think that you can't win, then you have just predicted the future and your prediction will be correct...

... but if you think that you have a chance and put up a fight that is worthy of the #1 ranking then you just might make it.

There are however, fights that only a fool gets into. General Pickett at Gettysburg attacked one of those and the failure belongs not to his men but to his poor judgment.

Attack if you have the resources and if the conditions are favorable. If you don't then spend the resources where they will accomplish a different goal.
