    seo-friendly tabs

    Hello

    In my php-driven website I have jQuery tabs which hide part of my content. I am uncertain whether the hidden content is indexed by the search engines and I would like your advice on it.
    The hidden content is all part of the html when the page loads, it's not generated by javascript when clicking on a tab. Below is the tab section in html

    Code:
    <div id="tabbed_product_info">
    <ul title="{$MANUFACTURER}-{$PRODUCTS_NAME}">
    	{if $PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION !=''}<li><a href="#tab_description">{#description#}</a></li>{/if}
            {if $extralanguageinfo->inhalt !=''}<li><a href="#tab_tracklist">Inhalt</a></li>{/if}
            {if $extralanguageinfo->autoren !=''}<li><a href="#tab_authorinfo">{#authorinfo#}</a></li>{/if}
            {if $extralanguageinfo->konfektion !=''}<li><a href="#tab_konfektion">Gestaltung</a></li>{/if}
            {if $extralanguageinfo->veranstaltung !=''}<li><a href="#tab_veranstaltung">Veranstaltung</a></li>{/if}
    </ul>

    {if $PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION !=''}<div id="tab_description"><img height="100" style="display: none;" src="http://www.homsym.de/{$PRODUCTS_IMAGE}"/>{$PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION}</div>{/if}
    {if $extralanguageinfo->inhalt !=''}<div id="tab_tracklist">{$extralanguageinfo->inhalt}</div>{/if}
    {if $extralanguageinfo->autoren !=''}<div id="tab_authorinfo">{$extralanguageinfo->autoren}</div>{/if}
    {if $extralanguageinfo->konfektion !=''}<div id="tab_konfektion">{$extralanguageinfo->konfektion}</div>{/if}
    {if $extralanguageinfo->remarks !=''}<div id="tab_remarks">{$extralanguageinfo->remarks}</div>{/if}
    {if $extralanguageinfo->veranstaltung !=''}<div id="tab_veranstaltung">{$extralanguageinfo->veranstaltung}</div>{/if}
    </div>
    Also, I used an optimization tool on this page On-Page Optimization Tool submitting one of my product info pages
    and in the results I saw that the tab links produce an 404 response, does that mean my customers cannot see my content?

    A 404 response (404 Not Found) means that your page could not be found.

    Without seeing the page/url your asking about I couldn't say if that's because your page doesn't exist or if the tool you used was having a fun 5min and not working correctly, but if your seeing a 404 error page rather then your page when you enter the url in your browser that means your page don't exist and that's what everyone else will see as well.

    Your code above looks fine from what I can tell by just looking at it and google will see all the html just fine as is above. If you would like to share your url people could have a better look at both of your questions and give better advice once seeing what's going on with your live site rather then just a snippet of the code

    Well the page loads so that's your 404 question answered

    I take it you're asking about the tabs in the box towards the end of the page? If so yes that's find google will see all the content in those just fine.

    If you want to check something like that in the future you can simple...
    1. Select some unique text from one of the tabs, for example "ATA-Schulungsseminars (2012)".
    2. Right click in a blank area of the page and click "view page source" (may be slightly different depending on your browser).
    3. In the source view window hit Ctrl+F to open the "find" menu and paste the text you copied in step one.

    You should find your text in the source view which is exactly how google will see it, done
