This what happened to me. With the help of these guys, in the past 4 months or so I've learned more than I thought I could possibly learn. Just listen and read to the people on the forums, they (usually) know what they're talking about. Just note their reputation points as well. Don't take advice from people with negative feedback or that have no posts.

After you've read the stickies, don't be afraid to ask questions. But, in order to get the best help and most informative answers, make sure:
1. You search first to see if the question hasn't already been asked
2. Ask specific questions - not broad or inane ones like 'how do I get to number 1 in google'
If you put in the leg work, you can learn a lot in a fairly short space of time. Good luck...

Good SEO
Welcome to the most tedious process in the world SEO. To give you an idea SEO is like developing a good diet plan and sticking to it. It takes time to get results and you should not cheat on your diet or you will gain weight. Same for SEO. It takes time and there is a correct way to do it, and you must stick to it. So much you need to learn but my first bit of advice is to go to wordpress.com or blogger.com and set up a blog for your company. Make your first post and center the post around the keywords you want to optimize. What are you selling? How is your product searched for in google? What keywords? These are things you need to know. Once you do you can build that first post in your blog. Link a few of those keywords back to the site you want to optimize. Use Anchor text and HTML code to do that. Any questions on this just post back here. But a blog is a nice way to get some free in content link love back to your site
