There are 2 possible solutions:
Try ranking well for terms that people are actually searching for?
For example if you were to rank well for "purple spotted sausages with orange sauce" then the likely hood of getting much (if any) traffic are slim. I always call this vanity SEO, because you rank well for something but it's pretty pointless!
In the above case ranking for "speciality sausage seller" I would expect to be a more fruitful term to rank well. You can check average monthly traffic using adwords keyword tool as a guide.
If the term you rank well for gets a good search volume then it's your CTR that should be addressed. You can do this by testing improvements to you Meta description, page title and possibly the display URL. These should all be displayed in the SERPs.
