The problem is you are using the wrong technique. Google will only show you a small sampling of your inbound links using the method you used. If you sign up for Google webmaster tools and add their code to your site you can download a CSV file of the links they see. Sme other options are:

As rightly said by europa, that Google only show some sample of links when you are checking through link:sitename.com in Google and which & how many links they will show totally depends on them.

Don't worry, its not a problem of your site.Check in Google Webmaster Tool, Yahoo Site explorer and other back link checker tools.
