Hi there, first your question is too broad that anyone would like to answer. Give us some specific question and some of us might give the right answer for you. Regards

    Lauren Elkaabi newly join ..!!!!

Hi I'm Lauren Elkaabi,I found this forum recently and decided to join. Hoping to make some good connections and take part in the knowledge within these forums. I started web development about a year ago and have a couple of sites that I am working on related to pets and animals. I have to come to realize that no amount of trying to make a website useful will get users to my site. I guess previously my mantra was "if you build it, they will come" and it didn't work out so I've decided to spend some time learning about SEO and figure out how I might appease the google gods. I have found much useful information here already and look forward to being a part of the community.

    Cheers,
    Lauren Elkaabi

It depends what you consider "On-Page Optimisation"! On Site navigation is (obviously) important and management of duplicate content (with robots-meta, robots.txt or canonical tags etc) is also important; these are two things you need to take care of.

There are several aspects of "On-Page Optimisation" that are NOT important at all (despite the number of people who will tell you differently) like - Keyword Density / Meta-Keywords / Meta-Descriptions etc, and there are some (like correct use of H tags) that can help but are not essential.

However, so long as you have these (basic) elements, off-page is FAR more important - in general, backlinks = votes for your site = rankings.

Yeah... In the good old days building the site was enough... nowadays it's a whole new ballgame

@Lauren and nsakib45: You would probably both benefit from following the "New to SEO / SeoChat..." link beneath my sig' and looking through some of the threads linked from there.
