How did you become an SEO

Many seo professional talk of their accidental entrance into this field. It would be interesting if we share our own short stories of how we get into this field.
As for me, i started the job, just for the sake of supporting my graduate studies. What i choose was a no-pressure sort of job which will not hinder my studies. Now that i have completed my graduation, i can't make my mind to move away from seo, although my qualifications are totally different.
Please nerrate your experience on how did you enter and the reason of your staying with this job. Thanks

Even i heard this name past few months before but how you people view the future in this field........

more hard work more patient and reading lots specially from this forum. SEO is not overnight journey.

Nobody as yet have answered my question though ... i.e how did you first get to know this field?

Needed extra cash to enroll in one last subject for school, was offered an SEO job, was taught by the company what SEO is and how to do it. That's my story.

when i had finished my BCA I was looking for job in web application and i got a job in link building in seo company you know link building is one of most important part of SEO after one year experience i had change my company and switched off for full time seo job.

Seo is going through an upsurge in most part of the world, once it touches its peak and more people start to know about it, it's popularity will come down. But there always will be the need of seo as long as people keep using search engines.

I got a job as a marketing assistant for a company named baldwin research. The internet marketing manager began putting me on the jobs of link building, traffic reporting and keyword research. Took off from there, that was 5 years ago, now I own my own company and work from home in my underwear!

a former company made me aware that SEO exist... they taught me the basics that i have to learn to start SEO.. but SEO does not end there, I have to research each and every day until now to learn new techniques and what is new in the SEO industry.

I started as an ad poster then I engage as a blogger. from then i learn SEO techniques and now im still learning the art
