I completely agree with this. I know when I started working on websites about 10 years ago I was working with html and graphics. Then I saw the need for automated scripts. At first I would download and install third party scripts, but after awhile I was never happy with how many of them worked. I then started working with PHP, then my web development shifted to more back end stuff with php and mysql. Now I am finding an extreme joy out of SEO work. The one thing I noticed over the years is when I expanded my skills the more work was available to me. Because not only do I sound like I know what I am talking about, but when a project comes along that I have to work with others I know how every ones work fits together and usually end up as lead. We totally have to evolve in this industry, and it is a constant up hill battle of obtaining knowledge. |

Back in 2003, just after finishing college with a bachelors in Commerce, I got a job in a leading e-card website as a link builder (surfing and sending emails was all I knew about the internet then)
While at work, I developed an interest in knowing more about SEO and other aspects of internet marketing. Later I was promoted as the email marketing head for the website, managing and marketing the newsletter program...from there to blog marketing, press releases, articles etc Then I felt the need to change my domain from just ecards and greetings to other industries and hence changed my job and now working as a full time SEO in a web dev company in India. That's my story...

Me... I am a game player. SEO is the greatest online stratergy game there is. The rewards for winning are huge. Consolidate your position, capture new territory, repel your competators. I jsut love the challange of becomming number one. It is such a buzz to see 50 million results returned and yours is number one. I don't do SEO for others even though I get job offers constantly. My efforts are purely focused on winning my niches....
