I left school at 16, and was lucky enough that my parents knew someone who offered to teach me the ropes. It kind of hit off from there. Now I'm doing free-lancing.

I have been doing this job from my study started. And it is exiting job for me ever. I was accidentally come in this field.
Due to this job me and my friend going to launch one site within short time. The value of SEO -Only those can feel who is in this field. If some one make you feel bad about SEO then let them do. They are not aware of it so they will. But we are the people who can dominate on search engine if have enough patience and excitement. I am getting more excitement when even one link increase and that only I can feel how much happiness i got. I am earning part time with adsense with two of my site and SEO make me eligible for that. After my master i will continue with it with my websites. |

I was hired by a search engine submission company 10 years ago to handle customer service. Noone at the company knew why some sites top listed and some couldn't be found. I studied the sites and figured it out. I'd create experiment pages and sites to help figure it out. There were too many emails to answer per day... so we opened a chat room, where I viewed sites and told people what they were doing wrong, and what could help improve things. At least ten people at a time would be in the chat room at any minute. People waiting to be helped learned by lerking. Some people just liked to hang out there.
Problems were easy to spot back then. A descriptive title tag, description and keywords were the basics. A little text on page or in noframes never hurt either. After a while the company figured my knowledge was worth selling, and they created a business selling SEO services. I worked optimizing sites like it was some kind of assembly line. Always a line of sites waiting to be optimized. It was great experience. |

I couldn't sleep one night, so I browsed the internet for online jobs. I had a couple of websites. I found a SEO. I hired him to teach me. Viola!
SEOChat has refined my SEO education. I read and read. Posted some stupid things (which I was taught or assumed to be true). Experimenting with my two websites. Within 2 years, I manage 80plus sites. I have some AdSense sites. Now, I am working at selling some big products online. You have to love this industry. For the most part, I am in my shorts or pajama bottoms, sitting at my desk in my home office making money. Hopefully this forum will never add video cams. We might be amazed at the dress (or lack of) of our fellow SEOs :-)

Fortunately, I came across a knowledgeable and caring person who among all his work schedules gave me time and taught me SEO basics.Though I know very little, that also is not possible without his constant support.
