Great Content - But No Links?
So I've popped out several articles that are really good. For instance, this one - http://healthlifeandstuff.com/2009/12/the-ten-most-important-adhd-meds/ - explains every medication option for ADHD that is on the market.
But as for getting people to link to it - I'm flummoxed. What would you do if this was your own project? Thanks in advance! |

Ya no one links to anything without a motive to do so...
If you invested $25000 in research and posted the research data online you'll likely get massive links to it... ...or if you paid 1000 people $25 each you could achieve a similar development... but just writing stuff that doesn't have any real sense of "MEAT" ...of innovation or enlightenment ... gets the return you've noticed.

The usual catch 22... or is it 21... so no links to get traffic, and no traffic to get links... we've all been there.
Yeah, getting links is hard, cause like Fathom said, what will motivate the linker to do so. Most do link exchanges... or/and the twitter, myface, bookspace and other social stuff. Those that have sites already can advertise their stuff themselves... or at least get it indexed if not ranked. But you basically past the beginner stage when you are there... or already have overcome the catch 22 thing. If your content is good and the site is fit, you can submit to DMOZ, and other good/related directories. Depending on the keyphrases you aim at, you might show for some more lame stuff, but with time and work, can spot yourself some better rankings... till you finally get some links naturally. It sounds like you are working on your own site. That's what I do, and you better get ready for a frustrating ride... the first site is usually not an easy one. You will most probably be working for peanuts of traffic for quite a while... but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Good success ...

Some great advice there, and thanks. link building is such a hard thing to do - honestly, it can be quite frustrating. I was wondering if you guys would specifically launch a certain advertising campaign in situations like this to try to draw the traffic that would build links?
I ask because content like that post seem to need to get a significant amount of traffic, but once they do, because they are generally referable, generate so many links that it's quite hard for competitors to catch up. |

just wait or start building links for it.
