    Funny, really funny.

My site (and domain) is an adult link list and it is about 6 months online. I am trading hard links daily, all with quality and relevant sites. I am getting about 100 free site submissions per day (all with my reciprocal link on them) so my link list is daily updated. It consists of app. 100 SEOed category pages. It is listed at DMOZ and other directories. I am working on it a few hours daily. I am getting about 20 hits from Google per day.

My friend does SE spam. 14 days ago he set up a new domain + some cloaking script + generated pages with some adult keywords. It took him about half of the day. Now he is getting 500 hits from Google to that domain and it is growing.

    Funny, really funny.

To destruction of what? To destruction of that $8.95 domain?

Really I just wanted to refrence Star Wars (ok I am not helping the stereo type but whatever). In actuallity there is a lot to be sed about black hat but not in this forum. A couple of the regulars here have a link to a black hat site in their signature. If you decided to go that route I would suggest reading up over there. I have yet to dabble in the dark side but probably will before too long. The quick gains are awesome when you dont care about the long term...

fido does have a point. it is much easier, and more profitable, to use throw away domains and spam.

unfortuanately, until the search engines get creative and stop rewarding spam and penalising white hat methods, this will be the case.

I am hoping you meant black hat methods there...

    sorry, to clarify:

at the moment, google seems to reward spam (in the short term) and penalise white hat (sandbox???)

what we need to see happen is:

google not reward spam and not penalise white hat.

I figured thats what you meant. However, it seems that the penalty that white hats get from the sandbox is paid back when the site stays around for a while. It seems to me that factoring in the age of the site in things like PR etc ballances the initial hit. Would you guys agree?
