First attempt at SEO
Hi there
I own a music online shop written in .Net, with over dynamic 100,000 pages at any one time. I have overlooked SEO as I have had decent business on another third party site.
But now I would like to take this on seriously. How should I proceed with my queries? Do I just paste the code for each .aspx file and hopefully you can guide me to rewrite all the URLs + H1 headings to start with?
Many thanks,
Hon

First off, lets start with the structure of a typical URL.
You will probably need to do some conditional URL rewriting, but if rewriting can be avoided then thats preferable.
Whats the URL - probably best to start off with a review of the site - in the Site Reviews section.
Then lets look at where you are ranking for some key terms.

Thanks for the tips.
But I cannot seem to post a new thread in "Site Reviews section" yet, do I need more posts?

I think you need 10 posts, but I'm not sure.
List it in this thread like this
mysite(dot)com... so it doesn't link.

I had a quick look, on the face of it, it looks good and I don't see much wrong.
Your dynamic URLs look fine to me, they only have one parameter in and it is using a sensible relevant variable so they don't look ugly.
On some of the record listing pages it might be worth including a star rating system - either your own or from a historical database.
Another suggestion: You could probably quite easily put out a Google Merchant / Base product feed format and for not a lot of effort, and no money, start getting rankings and sales through Google Merchant - i.e when someone searches Google Shopping, and these integrate with the normal organic SERPs too!
I haven't looked into linking or anything like that, just gave it a quick scan.

I would like the following changes on
Genre
from /All?Style=Breakcore
to /breakcore/all/
Artist
from Search/Results?SearchType=Artist&SearchTerm=José Manuel
to Artist/José+Manuel
Label
from /Search/Results?SearchType=Label&SearchTerm=XXX%20YYY%20ZZ Z
to /Label/XXX+YYY+ZZZ
Celebrity supplier
from /FeaturedSellers/62d1c8a9-9b97-4653-b884-6ac6b0a4f891 (This is the supplierID on SQL, but on the same entry the name of the supplier is under another column)
to /FeaturedSellers/XYZ

Will give these a look at no doubt, I can see a lot of other shops are on Google Merchant already!

Your proposed URL structure looks good. Make sure you 301 redirect correctly. Use Google Merchant and other product feeds, its a good free avenue for sales - to good an opportunity to miss out on.

Thanks for that. My question really is how do I make these URL structure changes. The page is written in .ASPX
