    Finding Pet niche customers

Ok, I wasn't sure which forum to ask this in but I think this is the best one?

So I have a new venture beginning on the side which is aimed at pet owners. I have a website and a twitter/pinterest presence. What would be the best way to find new customers?

Yesterday I joined the top pet, horse, dog and cat forums as I think this will be a goldmine (as long as I approach it correctly and don't start spamming). I'm not so much looking to get backlinks as to create interest and a presence.

Do you have any other good ideas? I'm not giving away the actual business but fair to say most pet owners would be interested ;)

    Thanks

Pet niche is a fun and active one! You have lots of forums and blogs. It's quite big on Pinterest and I guess Quora as well. It has lots of content opportunities either! So just do whatever you can afford the time to do! Yes, starting out at forums is probably the best idea before expanding!

Everything will be ok in the end

If it's not ok, it's not the end

spend a lot of time in the top pet forums where you can be recognized as someone who knows the niche...then your signature will work well.
just like we do here. ;)

One great way to find leads and promote brand awareness in b2c is sponsoring competitions and events. Depending on the size of your company, the market niche and the budget, you can offers some small (or big ;)) gifts to the winners of competitions held on relevant web sites/ communities.
You can also organise a contest yourself ('best photo' contests are the most common I see these days )
