Fathom not around

This is fathom's (Rod) brother posting, apologies if this is posted inappropriately. I'd thought I'd let everyone know why he hasn't been around.

fathom (Rod) had a heart attack on Sunday Nov 27, He is stable now, but is still on life support.

He did cardiac arrect twice, and both times were for short periods, so brain damage is not certain.

He had a pace maker "installed" which went well, but soon after he developed pneumonia, and has had complications since then. He has fluid build up around his heart and lungs, they tested and it is from the pneumonia not from the heart, which is "good".

They are at a difficult stage with him at the present time. They have tried taking him off of the ventilator about 5 times now, but when they have, he starts to get aggitated, so they sedate again, and tie him down. They don't want to keep stressing him out, HOWEVER with the ventilator in, it is making the pneumonia worse.

For those wanting to know, he may not be back on a PC for over 2 months, or longer.

Please tell him he is sorely missed and that my prayers and best wishes are with him. Fathom (Rod) is an anchor on this board.

Honestly, if this is legit, then that is one damn dedicated poster, getting his bro to post for him after HEART ATTACK? Props, hope he's OK cause he is an asset.

OK, Yesterday, they got Rod off the ventilator.

He isn't quite out of the woods yet, but this is a step in the right direction.

He has bilateral pneumonia, both lungs, and as long as he can breath on his own, and cough up the bad stuff, he should pull through, but due to the pneumonia his recovery will be a slow one.

Thank you for the update. He continues to be in my prayers.

Would it be possible to get a delivery address for him? I think a few people here would probably like to send a gesture and cheer him up a little.

I mean someone that is as committed as he is to be concerned about SEO Chat when they guy is in the hospital deserves at least that.

By the sounds of things, Rod will be out of the hospital by the end of the week.

Once they got him off of the ventilator, he was.... "WHACKED OUT" talking all kinds of crap, luckily it was just the drugs, and not brain damage....... well thats what the doctors say... I have my own opinion.

He has his sence of humor back, and him and I had a good laugh tonight. "I'm coming Elizabeth"

It will still be a while before he gets back on a computer, and he has lots to think about, and a drastic life style change ahead of him.

It's excellent that you two can laugh about it so soon after the scare. Hopefully that healthy attitude will translate to a healthy Fathom/Rod.
