Domain Keyword Doubling
Hi, I was in bed last night and had an idea, and would be interested to see your thoughts on this.
Lets say for example the keyword I wanted to target in google was "tyres" and tyres.co.uk had been taken, what would be the next best choice? A. tyrestyres.co.uk B. tyrestyrestyres.co.uk C. tyres-tyres.co.uk D. tyreswarehouse.co.uk What I am really asking is, what effect does doubling up on keywords in a domain have? Thanks |

Next best choice is tyreswarehous.co.uk.
This is brandable, not spammy and easy for users to remember. |

None... the tyrestyres.co.uk will not increase your chances of getting to the top spot for any keyword. The domain doesnt matter! i can emphasize this enough. All you need with the domain is the tld to be your target area, which in this case i take it is co.uk. you would then need (if targeting the uk) a server in the uk to host your website on. This is a big step to tell google WHO your website is for, but to tell it WHAT your website is for you must: 1. make sure all your onpage factors are optimized (these include, title, h1, h2, well written content, LSI etc) 2. build external links from quality tyre websites. What i mean here is: dont just go for links from say tyres.co.uk (PR5) if the content and the general userbility is not great then i would rather go for a link from awseomecarwheels.co.uk (PR3) if they have great content, a clean layout and just feel like a better website for the users. This will ensure that the link is quality in terms of both for the search engine and for the users on their website who would trust the link as it is on a great quality website, which has obviously been made for them and not the SE. |

dude! the domain does matter, sorry but to say the domain name makes no difference whatsoever is a ridiculous statement.
Please let someone who knows what they are talking about respond. Thx |

seomonkeymanocp does certainly know what he's talking about. The domain does not matter to any significant degree; KIDs has only the slightest effect in how a site will rank in the SERPs. The much more important factor in your domain (aside from the TLD part that seomonkeymanocp wrote about) is something that visitors can trust enough to click on, i.e. not spammy looking, and something they can remember. |

lol, thats made my day... Listen, you need to read more. Each and every big member here will back my statement that the keywords in the domain have no/or EXTREMELY little value... That going for something the users will remember and can put trust to is far more important then stuffing a: crap to look at, keyword filled, un-rememberable, rubbish domain name. |
