Search Algorithm

Spy Burg,

It all depends what you want/need. If you have a database currently, you could implement a search using a SQL query. Do you have a database yet? If so, is it MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL etc?

If not, that's the first thing you need. A database with populated information. Once you have that, you can search it using a SQL query and then implementing a search algorithm. There are many differnet options for sorting results once you get that far.

Best way to use crawlers and spiders with database

What is the best logic to use Crawlers and Spiders with let say mysql. I need it to be able to check against the database and if not found go out to the www for answer.

Also is there a way to find out when content(News, Event...etc) first hit the web using crawling and spider logic.?
