Google algorithm specific question

This is a specific question about the algorithm out of curiousity more then anything. Here's the scenario:

> Your site is in the number 10 spot under a specific keyword

> The user goes directly to your website and ignores the rest of the other sites listed in the SERP's or the user briefly goes to the other websites and then goes to yours for a substantial amount of time.

Does the algorithm consider this or even recognize this as positive and as such would that help with your ranking? Why?

I don't think the algo would take into account what you do once you click one of the results and go there.

And ah, you'll never know It's Google

Google is gathering searcher/user information and likely using it today to refine the top placements. Most professional SEOs expect that this trend will continue and possibly become the driving force to get into the top slots of the SERPs in Google. This is part of the reason we stress so heavily to focus on content and the user experience once they enter your site.

Lightbulb SERP Outgoing Clicks

When the user goes directly to your site, regardless of your rank, it is most likely a positive thing in the algorithms. I'd say that when a user goes to another site first then ends at yours, this too is positive.

The only way Google could monitor the amount of time a user spends at a site is through Google Analytics. I was told by a worker at Google that Google Analytics is not used in the algorithms. But maybe it's a secret and they really are being used to polish keyword rankings.

The Google toolbar or Chrome browser could also give them that info'... As will their own results page (not into time obviously, but into selections).

I'm not convinced (yet) though, for many reasons.

If user/searcher reach ur site first/last does not matter in my point of view but time spent on ur site matters.
If ur site full of info and unique then visitor stay for a while otherwise go to another site.
If u know about bounce rate of site.It will help or identitfy that user stay at ur site how much time........
