TopPile and cloaking?

I have been contacted by TopPile who tell me they can guaruntee front page listings for any keywords I choose in google and several other search engines.

On my own, I have had much more success than using any optimization company, but obviously their money-back guaruntee is inviting.

They informed me that they use a cloaking-redirect system that allows them to rank my site well and that they have never had a site banned from any search engine. Also, they tell me that if any site were banned, it would be their domain name (which redirects to mine) and not my domain that would be banned.

So, any thoughts? Has anyone heard of or worked with TopPile? Is their service they offer unethical in the SEO world?
I'd rather stick with our current success than take a risk of being kicked out of google.

Next, I don't know the company but given what G has to say a reasonable GEEK could draw the conclusion that over a given period of months G will more than likely send your site to "SE HELL" ala a ban if this type of procedure you are thinking about is used.

Finally and respectfully, sites aren't normally built for a few months and neither should your SEO efforts. Think long term

You may already know this stuff but for the benifit of others, I need to tell you this.

Finally, <wew> as any SEO Pro will tell you and we have plenty of them here, G is always in flux, EVERYTHING they do is secret, and your best to consider your site as a "lab" playing by the rules but continuing to experiment.

Edit: I tool a quick look at your site. Create a "site map" and also you do not have a custom error page. Create a custom error page which contains your site map.

One of my competitors is using this company.
They buy a bunch of domains to use as doorway pages full of keyword rich text, then add a .swf that looks like a loading bar and redirects to your main page. Very spammy!

They might receive temporary success, but the domain will be kicked out of google once they figure it out.

Thanks for the advise! Despite their efforts to tell me what they are doing isn't spam and is legitimate, it sounded very fishy to me. I just got away from one "optimization company" and am doing much better on my own, so we'll just keep it that way.

At your own risk insert the following in your .htaccess file for a custom error page:

ErrorDocument 400 /error.html
ErrorDocument 403 /error.html
ErrorDocument 404 /error.html
ErrorDocument 500 /error.html


Might as well get ready for SSI inside .html pages with the following in your .htacces:

AddHandler server-parsed .html .htm .shtml

hi just saw your notice board about Top pile and thought I'd jump in to defend them.
I have been using them for 2 years now. and have had good results. Originally we used to get the web designer to "optimise" our site, which did'nt help that much in getting our site out there. Top pile enlisted or registerd our designers, and now we are getting buyers from all around the globe, and more significantly local clients are comming out of the wood work.

They use a mirrored page, this is their new system. but I think the most important thing to note is : All their sites are optimised and submited on a daily basis, so if the Search engine changes their criteria, we still get a high listing. and the best thing is trying to find your competitors site.

This isn't the first time Top Pile has come up. I remember the big SALSA debate from awhile back. What a waste of money. Big Blue you ever wonder why Google changes their algo??? To get rid of SPAM that companies like yours put up. And than to come on a board posing as a customer and selling your trash. For shame! How can you be enthusiastic about working for Top Pile??? They drug you or something? (dont answer) Say hi to PaddyBolger for me.

The reason they have a money back gaurantee is because they can give you 5 top 10 results for low none competative terms and claim they did their job. Never trust a SEO company that claims they can gaurantee Top 10 results because you'll end up broke and getting 20 hits a month from your "gauranteed" Top 10 keywords.

They never stated that their own URL was banned by Google!

PaddyBolger (the owner) has stated that they removed themselves from the index which was later discovered that they would have been banned anyway for running acouple hundred thousand queries on Google daily. Basically what came first the chicken or the egg scenario.

There was a heated discussion on it at ihelpyou awhile ago.

why?, Big Blue himself dug this up. Must be trying to drum up business for himself!

Bernard dug it up as he is a regular poster (moderator I believe) on iHelpYou. BigBlue did the same thing as he did in this post last year: Pretending to be a customer and trying to get people to do business with TopPile. Someone traced his ip to TopPiles server.



BigBlue pretends, gets busted, gets boo'd

He's get more business if he just justified the methods that TopPIle used, was honest with everyone and didn't lie about who he/she is.

Look at the dates of the posts to this thread. You will see that it was dead a year ago (03-24-2003, 11:20 PM ) then resurected by Big Blue (02-26-2004, 08:40 PM )!
