Search engines consider dmoz?

does any one know if all search engines take url submission from dmoz?
I sumbited my site www.aquamedia-design.com to dmoz regional and it does not appear in google spain

Yes, Search engine consider DMOZ for ranking. The reason for that is simple. DMOZ is human edited web directory. So here is no chance of spamming. The listings are approved by the volunteers. The volunteers review your site and then put the site in appropirate category. So the listings are not spam and are well placed in the category. Search engine takes advantage of this laborious human work and appreciate it by giving weight in the search results.

Due to the responsibility on it's little shoulders, a listing can take a while to get into DMOZ. Have you checked to see if it is live yet?

The only advantage I would see to DMOZ is that other directories use the results = more links, more entry pages - feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

But as mentioned in the post above mine, it takes such a long time...

Not sure if DOMZ is worh it

This is the firs time in a while I have read anything positive on DOMZ. There are various other forums were people seem to thing DOMZ is not worth it but I can''t remember why.
