Lycos - Dead
Is it just me, or has lycos died. I dont think its coming back. Remember that cute dog? I think he must have been hit by a car, or kidnapped. "Lycos Go Get It". Well he isnt fetching anymore... Atleast not fetching my site...

Lycos is far from dead...they are listed 43rd on Alexa. I would give my eye teeth to be 43rd on Alexa for just one day.

As far as traffic; I get a little from them every now and then.

I've got to be honest and say that I voted in this poll to say that that Lycos is dead but I do recognise the fact that many people still use their services and are loyal to the Lycos brand - same goes for altavista.

I think they have simply gone throuh the typical product cycle and are now less in demand. I think their search delivers few visitors to websites in some areas, but the winning sectors would be the highly competitive ones - such as travel, real estate etc..

Lycos seems to think that its search service is dead. Why else would they have not taken a dump
from ODP since July 5, 2002?
