Inktomi: Paying for a Better Position
Quick question, possibly a dumb question. I'm already listed in Inktomi. If I pay them, will my position get better. How can I specifically optimize for inktomi?

No, absolutely not. Paying for an Inktomi listing actually hinders your page performance. BOW is the way to go when you do finally get it. Search your target keywords, hover over the link...if you see a straight URL like "http://www.highBOWsite.com" then that is a factor in their advantage, not a given though you can beat them if you are very good at analyzing the pages you compete with.
The only upside to paying for a listing IMHO is the fact that Slurp will come back, and keep indexing your page.
