Getting a listing removed from DMOZ
I was searching through Open Directory yesterday, and found in a certain category a number of links that pointed to porn sites, and had no reason to be in that directory. My best guess, is that the URL name [which was correct for that category] used to point to a valid site, and was being redirected to a porn site.
Is there any point complaining to DMOZ about this, and how do I do it. [My guess is that I locate the editor] My interest is that I was planning on asking for one of my sites to be put in that category, and don't want to be stuck in with irrelevent listings. |

The best way to do this is to contact the editor in that category that you wish to be placed in. If there is not an editor contact the one next up on the category. Or visit: www.resource-zone.com and let one of the people there know. Tell them you would like to submit but question some sites int he directory that have a negative effect on the directory.
There is abuse link I know of, but don't have the link handy. And porn...well its everywhere isn't it and it just plain annoying. This post should actually be in the ODP forum section. Hope that helps. |

Thanks for that URL, very useful. I just joined the forum there and will go look around.
