As it pertains to Search Engines and Directories...

Does anyone feel that a Good search engine or directory may have had it's popularity Compromised because of it's Bad Web Design


on the other hand;

What were steller examples of Good Web site Design as it pertains to usability - navigation - aesthetic appeal etc...?

Maybe if your design is absolutely horrible. Though the more popular websites today have proven that you don't need a great 'design' design, just great content. Content is king.
