AOL draws fire after releasing search data

AOL on Monday said it released a small portion of keyword search information for about 658,000 anonymous AOL users in a move that ignited a firestorm of criticism on the Internet amid calls for tighter protection of the privacy of users' Web searches.

The file is still on the web at http://research.aol.com/pmwiki/pmwi...edOver3M onths but the server is overwhelmed.

I'm not the least bit surprised. I've had Google and Overture representatives accidentally email me other companies' documents. It makes me cringe when I think they may be doing the same with mine.
