Altavista: Error 700

Hi,

does anybody have some experience with the paid inclusion of Altavista?

I keep getting messages 700, saying that they can't reach my page. I can't see Scooter coming by, nor do I see probs with the Server.

What is this telling me?

That's interesting.

I'll be honest - I've never worried about submissions to AV and I'm not sure what the error 700 means though. If they were unable to reach your site then that would generally be an error 404. 700 is most likely an altavisa reference code.

Are these happening frequently or was this a once off error. If you are certain that youir server was not having some downtime then perhaps the problem is with AV and their servers wre unablt to connect to yours.

Yeah, that must be it. I checked everything over and over and can't find anything, that could cause problems.

I just had an interesting chat with altavista - they're going to have there engineering dept. check

I just had to laugh:

It seems as if AltaVista is currently unable to process URLs with the
ISO-8859 character set in the file

So no German pages on Altavista????
