Yea just thought i would let everyone know wiki have released a beta version of their search engine and let me tell you... it needs a lot of work!

There are so many ways blackhatters are going to minipulate this its not even funny.

Colours suck, page load times suck, results suck, i just think it really sucks lol

Whats everyone think?

I think everyone is agreed that it sucks more than Divine Brown.

The search results will get better, but whether it will ever be worth using I don't know. Remember, despite all the hype it's still only in Alpha. Its a nice idea, but I think it's going to struggle with all the spammers it'll attract.

Has anyone searched for Wikipedia yet?

The results made me laugh - I'm in England.

So I then tried 'Wikipedia UK'.

Genius.

Yeah they are a far cry from where they planned to be... I guess the "human edited" side hasn't kicked in yet... it is a real mess. But give it a few months and it may actually become something... IMO if it stays as quality as Wikipedia then it will become a very resourceful search engine but I think it will cater to free, non-product results...
