I thought Google was working on something like that but had not yet incorporated that into their results. Am I out of date?

google image search can already figure out the color and the shape of the image that is being indexed so I dont think it is impossible for Google to figure out the actual text that is part of the image. I dont know whether it is available publicly yet or not.

So, are they using the color and shape capability in any meaningful way?
