New Search engine by China
http://accoona.com/
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6666890/ From playing around with it, it doesn't have a huge index like google, yahoo or even the microsoft beta engine. It also doesn't put almost any weight on anchor text or inbound links. With my search keywords, it doesn't look like it is heavily influenced by spam nor does it count inbound links. It looks like the old days where content and keyword density means everything. |

same results for me...for popular keywords, a lot of the spam sites showed up and not many authority sites. It's only indexed one of the 4 sites I manage...I'll be on the lookout for it in the server logs.
Here's a quote from MSNBC: "The company seeks to distinguish itself from Google, Yahoo Inc. and growing list of other search engine players by using artificial intelligence to make the results more relevant, said Pfeiffer. Unlike traditional search engines that seek specific "keyword" matches, Accoona will access Web pages that may have no exact keyword matches but are still relevant to the query, he explained." Whatever that means. I tried their example of 'Discount Diamond Jewelry' and when I checked the box on Diamond it didn't change the SERP. We'll see about this AI Last edited by barTok : December 7th, 2004 at 05:00 PM. |

So it's basically going to be a search engine with a built in thesaurus.
Funny, your quote though, barTok. I always thought Pfeiffer was more a Germanic name rather than Chinese. ;) My experience with their queries: Very much like a mix of old-school Alta Vista and modern-day Inktomi. |
