New Engine

I work for a new engine ( www.surch.com ) we have had tremendous success in our beta and would like to hear from as many people as possible what they think about it.

definitely has potential. How large is the index? I found many of my sites, and liked the related searches on the far left.

Hm yes very nice. I think its a bit cluttered and could use css +text sizes as i struggle to read the serps.

The results I got please me greatly, all my sites are found prominently on the searches/KWs I work towards.

I like the logo, Im sure Macromedia (now adobe) would have something to say about it tho! lol (it looks like the Flash logo, and when i see yours, all i can think of is 'Slash'! but then my mind does play silly games..)

1eightT thanks. its a full size engine that uses its own spyder plus, being meta, it surches 15 others as well. googlewhack, thanks for your response. I agree I need to make some changes to the css for sure...we are doing an update soon to the entire site and that is one of the fixes to the site... on the logo, yeah I can see your point to a degree but we used a font for it and I dont think slash has a patent on an orb or the font they manipulated but....

Oh no they wouldnt have a legal leg to stand on, that wasnt what i meant. No, i mean just like i did people would make a subconciouis connection between the 2. Whether thats a plus or a minus i dont know, depends on the individual i spose.

well that may be true within our respective circles but the average business owner purchasing PPC I highly doubt know what slash's logo looks like.

We are actually giving away some PPC to webmasters that are interested in trying it out and giving feedback... Everything other than some minor mod's and copywrite is finished so we are basically in our final stages before a launch.

fyi: When i said 'Slash' i was combining 'Flash' with the 'S' from 'Surch', as the logo looks like the Flash logo. Slash isnt real. Not to worry anyway, ur right in saying that Macromedia/Adobe havent patented the whole orby logo thing.

lol I know its flash.... hehehe was just following your post... we are also coming out with a ranking system to give people an alternative to pagerank.... but that will be later this year before that is launched... you are welcome to try out surch's ppc though. we are giving away 100 USD in advertisement to webmasters... well I hope you like the engine and I hope that other will play around with it as well. :-)

what is flash?

I think that logo is a copy of the mx2004 flash logo, which make me doubt about the level of professionalism of this "new search engine"

did you read? Its a font that flash DOES NOT OWN. I agree some could say it looks similar but we are in two competely different industries. Thats about the most rediculous post Ive seen out of thousands that have been submitted on surch throughout the net. LOL

well inc, we had already noted the point in the similarity in the logos. That had all been covered a few posts up. But, a similarity is as far as it goes im afraid. I like the logo, and i think it works in all intensive purposes. So there! lol

No man sorry, but this talks alot about the "company"... if you see a car that is exactly the same as a toyota model would you think that this car has the same quality or think this company clone a toyota model because they dont have the money to invest in creative designer? i will go for the second option... what i am trying to say that a company that doesnt take a logo seriously in terms of originality cant be taken serious becuase the logo is what will represent a company is what is going to be recognize by people why would you like to have the same logo other guy have or have a similar one?...
