Is there an MSN forum? If not, maybe there should be soon.

Lately, msnbot is digging very deep into our site... hundreds of pages spidered today alone. We used to get a few spidered every once in a while, but it has definitely gone crazy lately... something to note.

The msn search and the beta.search.msn.com look pretty much the same. Inktomi looking.

With msnbot really active lately... makes me wonder how long before they show their own listings instead of inktomi. Anyone have an idea?

MSN bot has crawled my whole site for the last three days running, it was appearing every couple of days for the last few weeks too

Pretty much the same experience here. It was appearing before, but not like this where it crawls all of our pages.

Maybe it has been acting like this before with other sites, but not ours. It has never crawled 100's of pages in one day before on our site.

I have also seen an increase in this bot, but i dont really pay attention to it right now since MSN is INK still.

I do however have MSN right next to Google for referrers in most all of our sites, neck n neck.

Per previous posts in other forums, I'm not "losing" traffic or referrers from google but rather obtaining more obscure traffic from related keywords, just not my main ones like the other engines are driving to me.

about 30k to 40k per day for me from MSN. Thats recent too. Googlebot fell to 5k per day. Crazyiness.

is there a name or ip address of this bot? I'm using an outdated logfile program, and I don't think it detects the MSN bot...

The ip should be 131.107.163.xxx the "xxx" range from 40 to 60.
