there is nothing wrong with notifying forums users of your directory.
as long as its one post per forum and made in the appropriate section.

i think your 'directories' category should be under 'internet' and not 'media'.

One problem I noticed is that the confirmation e-mail incorporates incorrect submittal information. You might have an OBOB (off by one bug) in pulling from the DB for the auto e-mail generation.
