Amazon's A9 revamped
Well it appears that the BETA of A9 is over. No longer does it say BETA and the colors are different. Plus an image, movie and reference search have been added. The SERPs and Image searches look like Google, Movies are supplied by IMDB.com and Reference is supplied by GuruNet.
It's pretty neat because there is ALOT of information in one location. Much better than the BETA. I cant see many people using it to search for commerce but this is an information junkies dream come true. Much more informative than Google IMO. Go see for yourself A9 |

Ok, I saw something I don't really care for as a SEO but might be good for the end user...did you see your name on the top right corner? Amazon's identity / preference checking is likely to be skewed by one's searches. I'm tempted to see what happens when I keep searching for payday loan, cash advance, etc. Most of the books I've purchased from Amazon are on economic theory, marketing, and general business, but if I start searching for some adult keywords, I'll bet the "recommended" books would change really quick.

Nice to see this new look, with the integrated picture search and all. I have tried A9 over the last couple of days (since it's part of mrsapo.com's multi-search) but it was little more than a ggl clone then. This is brand spanking new and - indeed - better.
P.S.: My name isn't on the page. guess I have to "sign in" for that. Might just... |

I noticed some referrals from A9 in my logs so it must be getting some decent usage.

yeah, seeing my name in the top right corner was a bit creepy; thanks for reminding me of the Amazon connection....
search results look suspiciously like Googles....and it does make mention of this on the page... |

It certainly seems to be the sort of search tool thet Joe Public would like. Shame it doesn't have it's own search engine.
