Zeus or Arelis

I have just been reading on another thread about Zeus and Arelis as link popularity tools. I have also been to each website and read the usual marketing blurb.

What I really want are honest opinions about how to go about getting the links from other sites. I already know about the email etc, it is the finding of the links that I want advice on.

Thanks

Steve

I do it the old fashioned way. I check the links of my competitors that do well in the serps. I also check dmoz. The linking I do by hand. I dont use programs and dont respond to program generated link requests. It works for me. I'm #1 for several of my kw and top 5 for many others. Remember that anchor text is crucial.

Hi Kirby,

When you say anchor text I'm assuming that you mean the text the site link to you uses?

Am I right?

Steve

Correct.

<a href="http://www.yourdomain.com/"><b>UK Flowers</b></a>

Your key words, UK Flowers, would be your anchor text.

That's what I thought, but it's always worth checking.

Thanks

Zeus Rocks!!
Nothing beats it.

I use Areles to find some links but I then feed them into Zeus.
Between the two I'd say Zeus is Far superior. It is an actual inetnet robot (just like the SEs) that you can train to find the sites you want it to. It also has great management tools for keeping track of all your sites and email correspondance with partners. You can even "audit" your directory to make sure all your link partners are still linking back. And much, much more.

Zeus is my favorite internet marketing tool.

As for Optilink - Also great but for different reasons. With it you can "reverse Engineer" someones presence. It has good link building tools as well, but its features do not compare to Zeus.

However, it has many features and uses that make it a must have for the serious marketer.

Just my opinion.

you are correct. comparing zeus and optilink is comparing apples and orange pickles, just not the same.

i use optilink to research competitors linking partners. i then feed those links into zeus. i am still using the older version of zeus (2.0 i believe).

the only problem i have about zeus (2.0) is that it takes a little while to learn the program. the tutorials are nice, but for most of us out there, we want to jump right into the program without following instructions. If you take the time to learn the program, it can really help ya out.

I don't know when you bought the program, but... There is a window of time where you qualify for a free update to 3.0.
Sorry but I can't remember the cut off date.

Once you know v 2.0 It takes a while to get used to v 3.0, but the workflow of the program is better!

Am I missing something...ISnt it better to do things the old fashioned way...looking into the backwards links and doing things by hand?

have you ever used optilink? thats precisely what it does. it looks into the backward links and provides linking statistics such as anchor text density and inbound outbound ratios.

you still have to manually contact the sites it finds, or you can import those sites into zeus / arelis.
